TAKE THE IMAGE DOCTOR SKIN CARE QUIZ

Hey guys Dan Thomas from Image Doctor and Improvemant.com and stay tuned and take the Image Doctor skin care quiz.

You can be wearing the sharpest outfit, have the slickest haircut, most expensive watch and coolest shades, but if your skin looks unhealthy then your image won’t be as strong as it could be and you’re also likely to look older than you actually are.

I’ve put together a quiz I ask all my Image Doctor clients during our consult to gauge how they are currently managing their skin care so I can then advise them on a skin care regime.

RATIONALE FOR EACH SKIN CARE QUIZ QUESTION

Now see the rationale for each of the skin care quiz questions below:

1 – Do you spend a lot of time in the sun?

Sun is healthy skins kryptonite in that it draws out moisture leading to dry skin and long term damage and premature aging in the form of wrinkles and sun spots.

2 – If so do you wear sunscreen when in the sun?

If your job, fitness or hobbies involve direct exposure to sun then wearing an SPF 30 + sunscreen will protect your skin from the harmful rays that are drying it out and leading to premature wrinkles, sun spots and a less attractive appearance.

3 – Do you use a moisturizer and any toner each day?

Using a toner on your face is like doing sit ups for your tummy, bicep curls for your guns or squats for your  legs and butt. In the same way these exercises tone the muscles and skin in those areas, a skin toner firms the skin on your face making it look tighter, healthier and more attractive.

As for moisturizer, quite simply using moisturizer is like watering plants. Your skin is the bodies largest living organ and requires very deliberate care to be healthy. I want you to picture the appearance of a plant that’s been left in direct sunlight for 1 week with no rain exposure or water from a hose. If you don’t moisturize your face twice a day then your skin may somewhat resemble that dry, unhealthy looking plant.

In the same way that plant will appear dry, wrinkled and unhealthy, so too will your skin become dry, unhealthy and develop premature wrinkles if not moisturized daily.

BLOKE FRIENDLY SKIN CARE REGIME

The simple and fool proof skin care regime I use and advise for all my clients is to:

1 – Have a shower

2 – Straight after shower apply witch hazel ointment to your face

3 – Wait 5 minutes

4 – Apply moisturizer cream to your face

Witch Hazel is a clear, topical ointment derived from the witch hazel plant. When my clients ask me what witch hazel is I respond by explaining it’s like sit ups for your face. When you rub or wipe witch hazel onto your face it cleans your skin and pores and then tightens them to create firmer, more toned skin which will make your skin look younger and more attractive.

And then 5 minutes after applying the witch hazel you then put a basic, no frills moisturiser like sorbolene on your face to keep your skin hydrated, non wrinkled and as healthy and attractive looking as possible.

4 – When exposed to the sun including when driving do you wear sunglasses?

If you don’t wear sunglasses when exposed to the sun, you will naturally squint your eyes due to the suns glare. This action of glaring causes the skin to the very side of your outer eye to crease and over time this repeated creasing will lead to what’s known as crows feet which you can see in this image:

CROWS FEET

Pronounced crows feet really impact your appearance and the first impressions you create as the eyes are a focal point during conversation and when people view you in photos on LinkedIn and all social media platforms so be sure to wear sunglasses to combat crows feet when exposed to the sun.

5 – Do you drink in excess of 2-3 litres of water per day?

Remember what I explained earlier regarding a plant and it’s need to be watered regularly to stay healthy and alive. I also mentioned that your skin is the biggest organ in your body and so needs very deliberate care and attention to be healthy and attractive. The key area of care and attention is to drink 3 – 4 litres of water per day in order to keep your skin dehydrated, supple and combat the premature wrinkles and lines that are created by skin that’s dehydrated and dried out.

6 – Do you have several servings of veggies per day?

Vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals that our skin is literally crying out for. Eating several servings of vegetables per day will result in your skin having a healthy and attractive glow that looks very appealing and attractive to others.

7 – Do you drink alcohol regularly be that 2-5 drinks per day or 1 or more binges per week?

Alcohol wreaks havoc on your skin in several ways:

  1. Alcohol dehydrates your skin which makes it dry and accelerates the development and premature wrinkles and lines
  2. Alcohol deprives your skin of the essential vitamins and nutrients it requires to look and be healthy and attractive
  3. If you’re drinking spirits with soda this can lead to acne break outs

8 – Do you smoke cigarettes?

There’s a variety of negative effects that smoking has on your skin:

  • Smoking effects your skins hydration as well as the elasticity of your skins tissue which both cause premature wrinkling and ageing.
  • Smoking cigarettes changes your skin tone and complexion in a negative way which is most commonly a more glum and less glowing appearance.
  • And a huge negative of smoking in terms of your appearance and attraction id the very pronounced wrinkles that will form around your lips as a result of the long term action of pursing your lips as you take in a drag of your cigarette. Take a look at this image to see how unattractive this looks:

9 – Do you have long hot showers?

Having steamy hot showers longer than 7 minutes is going to leave your skin dehydrated due to the steam drawing out the moisture from within your pores. If you are having long hot showers routinely then expect your skin to age much faster as a result. If you’re very brave then having cold showers will do wonders for the health of your skin plus many added benefits which you can learn about here.

10 – Do you get at least 7 hours sleep per night?

Once again your skin is the largest organ in your body. Just like your muscles require ample rest to rejuvenate, rebuild and grow following regular resistance training, your skin requires at least 7 hours of good quality sleep each night to stay at an optimum level of health and vitality.

So please use today’s skin care quiz as a yard stick for how you’re currently managing your skin and if you didn’t rank too well then use the information and rationales I’ve provided to correct those areas and watch as your skin repairs and the compliments come flooding in.
